Pokémon rotation 2027: what to expect
The 2027 Standard rotation hasn’t been announced yet. If it follows the usual pattern, cards with the H regulation mark leave Standard next autumn. Here’s what that would mean and what to do now. We’ll update this page when The Pokémon Company confirms it.

Which sets have H-mark cards
The H mark is on most cards from these sets. Check the letter in the bottom left of each card: some sets mix marks because of reprints.
Temporal Forces. H mark.
Twilight Masquerade. H mark.
Shrouded Fable. H mark.
Stellar Crown. H mark.
Surging Sparks. H mark.
Prismatic Evolutions. Mostly H, with some older reprints.
Reprints keep cards legal
In 2026, an older card stayed legal if a version with a legal mark existed. Rare Candy and Boss’s Orders both stayed in Standard because of their Mega Evolution reprints. Expect the same rule again, so check for a newer printing before you write a card off.
What to do now
Playing Standard?. Build around I and J cards where you can. They should stay legal for longer.
Holding H-mark playables?. Prices of rotating cards often fall once rotation is confirmed. If you won’t play them after rotation, think about selling or trading them before then.
Collecting?. Rotation only affects tournament play. Collector value depends on the card, not the format.
Playing casually?. Expanded and casual games aren’t affected. Your cards still work at the kitchen table.
Questions
Rotation questions
When is the 2027 Pokémon rotation?
It hasn’t been announced yet. In 2026 it was announced in January and took effect in late March online and mid-April in tournaments. A similar timeline is likely.
Which cards rotate in 2027?
Not confirmed. Rotation removes the oldest legal regulation mark, so the H mark is expected to go, leaving I and J cards and newer.
Where do I find a card’s regulation mark?
It’s the small letter in a white box at the bottom left of the card, next to the set symbol and number.
