How big a box?
Count sleeved cards. Double sleeving adds about a third to a deck’s thickness.
| Deck | Cards | Look for |
|---|---|---|
| Pokémon | 60 | Rated 80+ if double sleeved |
| MTG Commander | 100 | Rated 100+ double sleeved |
| MTG 60-card formats | 60 + 15 sideboard | Rated 80+ double sleeved |
| Riftbound | Main deck plus runes and battlefields | Rated 80+ double sleeved |
Buying a deck box
Ratings are for sleeved cards
A box “rated 100” means 100 single-sleeved cards. Double sleeving takes more room, so size up.
Room for the extras
Dice, damage counters, tokens and a sideboard all want a home. A box with a separate tray keeps them off the deck.

Questions
Good to know
What size deck box do I need?
Count sleeved cards, not cards. A 60-card Pokémon deck in double sleeves wants a box rated for about 80; a 100-card Commander deck in double sleeves wants one rated for 100 or more.
Should I double sleeve my deck?
If the deck holds cards you care about, yes. Put each card in a perfect-fit inner sleeve upside down, then into a standard deck sleeve. Dust and spills stay out and the deck shuffles the same.
